Sketchbook Final

 Done in 8.5 x 11 in Sketchbook

This is what I have done in my sketchbook since the midterm evaluation, and although I am happy with the pages that I have, I do wish I had been able to practice more in it. I like that I got to do a lot of  “doodling” as I think that’s my favourite part of art in sketchbooks - it doesn’t have to be perfect or final. You can just draw whatever wherever in any colour to your hearts content and just let the creativity flow. That being said I wish that I had been less busy so that I was able to do more technicality practicing, such as shading and posing because although I love doodling, skill practice is just as important, I didn’t have as much time as I would have liked - what I was hoping to have as I talked about in my midterm sketchbook post. However when I got to take advantage of time I am happy with with what I did and learned through research and experimenting, although I just went into her briefly I especially want to look more into Louise Bourgeois this summer and find out where I would have to go to see some of her work. I also hope to do more art with dark paper and white gel pen because I find it very aesthetically pleasing, so I was happy to be able to play around with it in my sketchbook and the body as a line project. I had fun with my sketchbook this semester but I definitely still wish I had more drawings in it and hope to get into a better habit of practicing daily even if it’s just small little sketches, I still have some open pages so maybe I will be able to start working on that habit this summer.

Flower doodles with marker.

Doodle page with whiteout tape and pen.

Term research and brainstorming for the Ink project, doodling.

Experimenting with ink, I water washed the page with a thick brush and then dropped ink right from the bottle onto the paper to see how it would spread and dry.

Some art using ink and a white gel pen, I really enjoy using the gel pen on dark paper and ink was a great way to create that dark contrast.

Idea sketches for a sculpture project - brainstorming a sculpture project lol.

Hand practice sketch.

Artist research on Fahd Burki.

Practice perspective done in class.

Term research for the perspective assignment.

Geometry doodling.

Watercolour whale and a look at Louise Bourgeois.
